nourishing our communities
growing in tribes is our strength in face of an uncertain future
hey beloved readers :)
i recently posted a new article elaborating on topic of community, giving it the historical context it needs, that is, i talked about the different facets of community as it stands today.
we must understand that we are living throughout what is called “late-stage capitalism”, a historical moment when, in order to keep up with the endless economical growth that capitalism needs, we have forfaited all aspects of our lives. and even community is often sold as a product.
but can community be bought?
i don’t think so. community takes real emotional labours and personal effort. it takes a commitment that is based on true mutual care, something that has to stem from the heart, and not from the wallet.
in this article, i’ve analysed what is the indicator of being part of a community, what are the illusions of it and which scenarios we should be wary of.
finally, this article is meant to inspire all readers to create and deepen their community bonds, especially during the times of global change we are all experiencing in some form.
we humans, as the very social species we are, have always faced and overcome challenging historical moments thanks to the strength of our communities. now is, again, the time to brace ourselves and stand with our tribe, prepared for whatever scenario might be ahead.
knowing that we have a support system to count on, no matter what weird steer the economy or politics might take, can give us faith into a shared future and provide for the emotional and material abundance that is needed in these times.
by the end of the article, i mentioned some ways to find or create a community if you find yourself to be isolated. i also proposed, in case anyone is interested, to bring back the online meetings and work our way into forging an online community and system of support through the distance.
i hope to hear your thoughts on the matter in the comment section or in an email :)
also taking advantage of this email to tell you that i’ve added some new handmade products in my etsy shop. i’m still at the beginning, but please check out it :)
with love and strength
